BASIS Proposal to Bangladesh Bank Governor

A three member BASIS delegation led by BASIS President AKM Fahim Mashroor met Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman at his office on Sunday, August 4, 2013. During the meeting they discussed on different issues relating to the development of the software and IT enabled services industry. During this discussion, they submitted a few proposals in this regard which are as follows: 1. Funding for young and young IT entrepreneurs 2. Introducing two-factor authentication system to ensure the safety of e-commerce transaction 3. Facilitating software import and export procedure 4. Permission to send foreign exchange for Apps and online advertising (Google, Facebook) BASIS leaders highly appraised several steps addressed by the Bangladesh Bank already, such as e-commerce transaction using credit/debit acrd, mobile payments, Equity Entrepreneurship Fund (EEF) EEF, International Credit Card and the like. Bangladesh Bank Governor assured BASIS leaders that all these proposals will be taken care of for the development of software and IT services sector. Senior Vice President of BASIS Shameem Ahsan and Former Secretary General Shoeb Ahmed Masud were also present in the discussion.
