Banking Account Proposition for Professionals and Companies Involved in Outsourced Service Exports

BASIS has initiated a new service from June 8, 2015 in association with Standard Chartered Bank named SCB ERQ Account which is SCB's bundle offering of Foreign Currency Exporters Retention Quota (ERQ) Account and Taka Account to individuals, firms, professionals involved in service export in non physical from such as outsourcing, BPO, business services, professional, research and advisory services etc. aligned with the relevant stipulation of Bangladesh Bank and at SCB's discretion in terms of associated products, discounts, privileges and features of SCB.

Who can apply?

Individuals and firms involved in service exports in non-physical from such as outsourcing, BPO, business services, professional services, software and web development, research and advisory services etc.

Defining the scope of ERQ Account:

-Customer can park the payment (received through inward remittance) in USD account and BDT account simultaneously. The account holder will have the option of retaining maximum 60% of the inward remittance in the foreign currency account, or as applicable by Bangladesh Bank regulations. 
-Customer can transfer the USD fund abroad from USD ERQ account through wire transfer / and Demand Draft for bonafide business purpose 
- Customer can use the International debit card issued against ERQ account 
- Customer can earn interest on BDT Savings account according to prevailing interest rate 
-Customer can enjoy reduced fee structure 
-The applicant will need to obtain a testimonial from BASIS which will certify his/her genuineness and then fill in the banks prescribed forms.

Operational Process:

The applicant will need to obtain a testimonial from BASIS which will certify his/her genuineness and then fill in the banks prescribed forms. 

Step 1: 
The applicant must download the Application Form from BASIS website or can collect the application form from BASIS office for BASIS testimonial. The required documents are as follows: 
-Duly filled up form 
-Photocopy of all issued National Identification papers (Passport, NID and Driving License 
-2 copies of passport size signed photo 
- Proof of Income 
- BASIS service charge Tk. 3,000 

Step 2: 
Application Submission Mode: (you can submit the application through following process) 
1. You can submit the hard copy application along with the necessary documents and payment at BASIS office. 
2. You can email us the form and necessary documents as attachments at [email protected] 
3. You can send us the form and necessary documents as attachments by courier.


Please pay the service charge of Tk. 3,000 in any of the below methods.

- BASIS members need only an application letter addressed to Executive Director, BASIS to apply. 
- BASIS members need to submit the updated BASIS membership certificate with the application. 
- No charge for BASIS members. 
- Please provide valid email address. 
- All documents will be mailed to your mailing address. 
- BASIS member banking service like SCB ERQ account recommendation letter receive date will be 3-7 working days. 
- We cannot accept cheque payment at this time. Only Bank deposit, bkash and cash payment will be currently accepted. 
- BASIS service charge is non-refundable.

Step 3:

1. If all papers are okay, it would be received by BASIS officials. 
2. All papers will be gone through an audit/verification by BASIS committee. It may 1-3 months for verification. 
3. The verification process may include skype meeting, Information verification with the client etc. 
4. After verification BASIS certificate will be provided. 
5. After getting the BASIS testimonial the applicant will applied for ERQ account with the below documents: 
   - BASIS Testimonial 
   - Filled up specific Account Opening Form (AOF)  available at SCB branches / website 
   - One page declaration form for ERQ Account  available at SCB branches / website 
   - Transaction Profile Form for ERQ Account  available at SCB branches / website 
   - Photo ID such as Passport, NID etc. 
   - Photograph of Applicant (attested by the introducer) 
   - Photograph of Nominee (attested by the applicant) 
   - Resident Address Verification Document (i.e. a copy of utility bill, copy of passport issued not more than 1 year, etc.)
