US-Bangladesh Tech Investment Summit will be held on 7th May at Silicon Valley

US-Bangladesh Tech Investment Summit will be held on 7th May, 2013 at Silicon Valley, California, USA. BASIS is organizing this summit in collaboration with The Indus Enterprise (TIE) and Agrani Bank Ltd. BASIS president AKM Fahim Mashroor officially announced it in a press conference on 16th April, 2013 at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla, Dhaka.

BASIS Senior Vice President Shameem Ahsan, Secretary General Russel T Ahmed, Chairman of Agrani Bank Ltd Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque and Managing Director of Agrani Bank Ltd Syed Abdul Hamid were also present in the press conference. BASIS President AKM Fahim Mashroor said the summit would offer the US investors of Silicon Valley an idea about the scopes and opportunity of technology boom in Bangladesh in precise manner. BASIS senior vice-president Shameem Ahsan said it will create many small and large business to business communications as more than 50 Bangladeshi IT firms will attend the event to promote their products and services.

BASIS Secretary General, Russell T Ahmed said, this is the right time as we need to promote that our country has positive images to offer to the world.

Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, Chairman of Agrani Bank Ltd stated that Agrani Bank is the only bank in the country that has 900 branches with Internet connection and 200 branches with online banking service. He also mentioned that Agrani bank brings the largest amount of remittance in the country and they will provide their utmost support to bring foreign IT investment in Bangladesh.

More than 200 IT entrepreneurs, top level executives and policy makers will participate in the summit. Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman, US congressman Mr. Machael Honda, Mayor of city of Sunnyvale Mr. Anthony Spitaleri, Digital Bangladesh initiatives founder Mr. Sajeeb A Wazed, Chairman of Agrani Bank Ltd Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, TiE Silicon Valley President Mr. Venktesh Shukla, USPAACC CEO Susan Allen and US Bangladesh Partners CEO Ms. Joyce Moye will join the summit as speakers.

In 2010, the first summit was organized in New York.
