BASIS’s Press Conference to create awareness on online Outsourcing

Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) organized a Press Conference to create mass awareness about some recent misleading activities by some local companies in the name of online outsourcing. The press conference was held on Sunday, the 24th June 2012 at BASIS Board Room.


BASIS President Mr. Mahboob Zaman informed the journalists that, some local organizations fraudulently alluring people into easy online earnings. They are provoking people to earn through “Pay per click” i.e. PPC, PTC etc. method and through which they are taking lots of money and people are getting looser financially. BASIS President mentioned that, majority of the victims are young students. He also added that, in the name of online outsourcing companies, they are using the concept of Multi-level Marketing (MLM) and already many of them have been able to build a network across the country by focusing on outsourcing and are siphoning off public money.


When country is earning reputation in the field of Freelancing, some unscrupulous people are deceiving people in the name of outsourcing which hampering the goodwill of most potential Freelancing field to the general people. BASIS President expressed his anxiety that the multi-million dollar outsourcing business could be affected due to this MLM companies. As Software and ITES based national trade body, BASIS feels to guide the young generation to save them from this type of odds.


In the Press Conference, BASIS invited some university students those who are victims in front of journalists where they tell their experience. On the other hand there were 2 (two) success Freelancers of Dhaka University who also shared their experience.


BASIS with the help of ICT Ministry and A2I will launch awareness programs on this issue from June 30, 2012 at different universities. The first one to be held at Jahangir Nagar University at Savar on 30th June 2012. Besides, BASIS will arrange training on 35-40 different subjects for several international outsourcing job portals under BASIS Institute of Technology and Management (BITM).


BASIS Senior Vice President AFM Fahim Mashroor and BASIS Joint Secretary General Mr. Tamzid Siddiq Spondon were also present in the Press Conference.
